Why have a 2 week emergency food supply on-hand?
Having a well-stocked cupboard is critical to creating a 2 week emergency food supply for the next natural disaster. Creating an emergency supply list is an excellent method to get yourself and your family ready for the next flood, hurricane, epidemic, tornado, or earthquake. It’s also useful when you’ve had a financial crisis that prevented you from going to the store.

If you and your family need to prepare for two weeks or more of meals, pay close attention to nutritional demands. Prepare food stockpiles so that everyone may enjoy at least one well-balanced meal each day.

You may need to modify your schedule based on your family’s needs and situations. Begin by making a list of meals. Next, draw a circle around the 4-6 meals your family always eats. Make a list of all of the things you’ll need for each meal (not to mention seasonings) and then make your shopping list.
Over the next few weeks, add to your pantry little by little until you have a total of 14 days’ worth of food. You’ll be surprised at how inexpensive it is to do it this way if you space out and look for sales.
